Meet Our Postpartum Doulas

  • Shelby Rutherford, Postpartum Doula

    Shelby has worked for several years as a professional nanny. It was her work as a nanny that drew her to postpartum doula support. Providing emotional and open-minded, judgement-free support are her ultimate goals as she supports new moms bringing baby home and introducing them into the family. Shelby has a calm, easy demeanor and her clients often comment that they don’t know what they would have done without her support. She makes true connections with her clients as her caring nature is felt by the entire family. Not only will she be there to answer any infant care questions, but she will focus on mom’s needs as well. She will ensure that not only baby, but mom is well cared for.

    In her free time time, Shelby enjoys spending time with her family and her cats. She also has a passion for the outdoors, writing, baking and gardening.

  • Elena Benfer, Postpartum Doula

    Elena is a Postpartum Doula trained through Birth Arts International. She has also been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2017. She developed her passion for pregnancy and birth from prenatal and postpartum massage sessions. Elena’s vision for her doula journey is to provide comfort, guidance and educational support to every new mother. She looks forward to bringing encouragement and supportive care to your expanding family.

    In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs in recreational parks, riding bicycles, skiing, cooking and reading books.

  • Nicole Delgado, Birth and Postpartum Doula

    Nicole is a Full-Spectrum Doula trained through DONA and Birth Becomes You. She has also worked as a Special Ed Teacher for over 15 years, teaching students with multiple disabilities. Her compassion, empathy and advocacy skills shine through in her work as a doula. She is passionate about supporting moms throughout their pregnancy and postpartum journey by providing evidence-based care and education, as well as physical and emotional support. Nicole loves forming connections with her clients and supporting new parents so they can focus on bonding with their newborn as they navigate their new role as parents.

    When Nicole is not supporting new moms, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two toddlers, running, reading and photography.

  • Lauren Cordon, Birth and Postpartum Doula

    Lauren is both a Birth and Postpartum Doula certified through Childbirth International. She comes from a large, multicultural family and values her faith, honest, information and natural instinct. Lauren has a bachelors degree in Professional Studies from Purdue University. As a doula, Lauren likes to focus on educating and supporting all people, especially those of color, that believe they are limited in choices during labor, delivery and the postpartum period. She loves being able to provide individualized support to families and has enjoyed watching her career supporting new moms and their family blossom.

    In her free time, Lauren enjoys spending time with her friends and family, baking, cooking and gardening.

  • Naomi Shepherd - Postpartum Doula

    Naomi began her doula training shortly after high school and is now a fully trained postpartum doula. She brings both enthusiasm and deep knowledge to the families she supports, and is a warm, steady presence during the postpartum period.

    With a lifelong background in working with children and formal studies in child development, Naomi is especially focused on helping new parents feel confident and capable in their growing roles. She has experience supporting families with multiples and truly enjoys meeting each family where they are.

    Naomi is deeply passionate about building meaningful relationships with the families she works with and creating a space where parents feel comfortable, supported, and respected as they navigate this season of change. She is currently furthering her education in pregnancy and postpartum nutrition to better support families holistically.

    In her free time, Naomi enjoys cooking and baking with her fiancé. They are excited to be getting married in April of 2026.

  • Jill Huffman - Postpartum Doula

    Jill is a Certified Postpartum and Infant Care Doula through ProDoula, bringing nearly 30 years of experience caring for newborns, infants, and children.

    With a special focus on overnight newborn support, Jill provides families with the gift of restful nights, expert soothing techniques, and a calm, safe environment where both parents and babies can thrive. Her steady, reassuring presence helps families feel supported and confident as they adjust to life with a new baby.

    Throughout her career as a caregiver and support professional — and through her own experience as a mother and grandmother — Jill has developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges that accompany the postpartum period. She meets families with compassion, consistency, and nurturing care, honoring each household’s individual rhythms and needs.

    When she’s not supporting new families, Jill enjoys spending time with her loved ones and relaxing with her favorite hobby, crocheting.


  • Anika Vanim, Birth Doula

    Anika is a certified Birth Doula, Reiki Practitioner, Prenatal Yoga Instructor and Placenta Artist who is dedicated to empowering mothers through their most authentic birthing vision. She has personal experience in both preterm and home births - having her first child three weeks prematurely and free-birthing her second child at home. As a result, Anika connects deeply with the home-birthing community as well as those facing preterm births. She provides comprehensive support to mother, whether they are navigating natural labor or preparing for cesareans, ensuring they feel informed and supported every step of the way.

  • Zipporah Witherspoon, Birth & Postpartum Doula - Certified Newborn and Infant Care Specialist - Sleep Trainer

    As a Full-Spectrum doula, Zipporah is trained in both labor and postpartum care, which allows her to support families through every stage of their journey. She understand that welcoming a new baby is a life-changing experience and is there to provide the guidance and care that parents need during this time to thrive. Her approach is rooted in empathy and understanding, ensuring that families feel seen, heard and supported during this transformative time.

    When she’s not supporting new families, you can find Zipporah indulging her love for mysteries. She enejoys quirky shows like Stranger Things and Supernatural and is captivated by the puzzles and phychological twist in Blindspot and Criminal Minds. She also craves adventure with one of her most thrilling experiences being parasailing over the beautiful waters of Curacao where she spotted a school of dolphins and sea turtles swimming below. Life is an adventure and Zipporah is excited to be a part of yours!

  • Victoria Cruz, Birth and Postpartum Doula

    Victoria is a dedicated Birth and Postpartum Doula serving families with compassionate, evidence-based care. She is currently pursuing her DONA certifications and expanding her skills to include Hypnobirting Instruction, Craniosacral Therapy (CST) and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) credientials. With a Bachelor of Science in Human Development and Family Studies and Psychology, Victoria blends academic knowledge with a deep personal calling to support families through one of life’s most transformative experiences. Guided buy love, learning and lived experience, her devotion to this calling deepens, rooted in the belief that empowered families build stronger communities

    .Recently relocated from Philadelphia to Berks County, Victoria shares a home with her fiance, their spirited toddler, a Bernese Mountain Dog and two rescue cats. Outside of work, Victoria cherishes time outdoors, reading and throwing pottery.

  • Sandy Petriccione, Postpartum Doula

    Sandy is a Postpartum Doula certified through Childbirth International. She has a large extended family and is no stranger to being around and working with children. For 3 years she worked as a child and school photographer, traveling to schools throughout the tristate area. With all of this, Sandy felt that she could be support families in a different way and decided to become certified as a Postpartum Doula. She finds comfort in supporting families in a comprehensive and holistic way. She looks forward to opportunities to support all types of families in the community.

    When Sandy isn’t supporting new moms, she enjoys backpacking, photography and spending time with family.

  • Grace Kovitch, Birth and Postpartum Doula

    Grace is a naturally-minded Christian Doula who lives in Barto. She grew up with a large family and has always understood the importance of family, babies, and a mother’s presence in the home. It was that understanding that brought a deep longing to be there for and support parents in the postpartum period. After shadowing a lovely and skilled doula mentor, she had truly found her God given calling. Grace became certified soon after with the ultimate goal of being an advocate and pillar of support for moms and dads in the community.

    When Grace is not supporting new moms, she enjoys hiking, weightlifting, and hiking in her free time.
